Yesterday I stopped by Whole Foods<\/a> on the way home from work. I finished my grocery shopping quickly and found that I had a few extra minutes, so I decided to go next door to the local REI<\/a>. I always go to the shoe rack that has returned shoes to see if I can get lucky. Well, yesterday I got lucky. I found a pair of Asolo Axis shoes<\/a> in my size (8) at about $20 off the normal price. They are really comfortable, have a nice Vibram sole, and the tongue doesn’t stick out excessively, which is important. I don’t like it when the tongue catches the cuff of my pants, so that the cuff is behind the tongue.<\/p>\n

I needed a new pair of shoes to replace my New Balance’s, which were getting worn out. The fabric at the inside wall of the shoe, just above my heel, was worn through, and a plastic support that had sharp corners was digging into my upper heel. I guess it wore out because I usually slip on my shoes without untying them. Now that I have a new pair of shoes that I can wear everyday, my New Balances will drop down the shoe hierarchy and be my new “mowing the lawn\/gardening” shoes. And my Adidas that I used for that purpose can finally be sent to shoe-heaven. RIP<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
