Porter was not the best announcer (so many stats become overwhelming) but he was one of the true voices of the Dodgers, and could call a good game. Bill Plaschke of the L.A. Times wrote <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/sports\/columnists\/la-sp-plaschke23oct23,1,4365969.column>a great story about how the Dodger execs blew it big time.<\/a> You may have to register (free) with L.A. Times.com to access the story. I really don&#8217;t like the McCourts, who own the team. They are just business people and don&#8217;t seem truly interested in the Dodger tradition.
