When I was finished I noticed a stinging sensation on my hand. Looks like I got my first fire ant bite of the year. Usually the bite hurts for a few minutes, then kind of goes away, only to reappear the next day and it stays itchy for a week. But this one actually hurts and looks like a small welt, surrounded by red swollen skin about two inches in diameter.
