I occasionally put some items up for sale on the local online messageboards at google and craigslist, and have lately been getting some bizarre replies. I can only imagine they are some sort of scam operation. Here’s an example of a reply I got for a camera I put up for sale:
“Hello seller,I will like to purchase your item displayed with an immediate payment of the item because i will like to present the item to my grandson as a gift whom is actually on his sick bed at his Art school,and also want to use this item to settle the grudge between the both of us before he left for school in which he as been dreaming on having a Camera of his own for years now and i just think the only way to make him feel more fit and strong from his sick bed is by sending him this item,I will like to know the buy it now price of this item and the condition of this item.i will like to make payment via postal order by western union auction payment for security purpose and as soon as the payment is been confirmed,i will be picking he item up through my courier service account for nice presentation of the item to him,Please send in your full contact information so that this transaction can start immediately”Thanks..”

Could this be the year for the Dodgers? In the home opener, the Dodgers came back with four runs in the bottom of the ninth to beat the rival Giants. Woohoo! Looks like it might be a good year for the blue crew. They are off to a great start.
I saw this cool maps/notes thing on Webmikey and decided to do my own. It’s part of the Memory Maps group at Flickr. You can view satellite images of people’s hometowns (and other places of interest) and read their notes about their memories of the different places. It’s very neat!
