Last night there was a birthday party at our house for myself and my friend Také. There was lots of good food, some amazing cakes, and a good time was had by all. Click the pic to see more photos at Flickr.

When I was a little kid growing up in the 70’s, I had this cool record player that also showed slides. It was called the “Show’N Tell”, and it was awesome. I can’t for the life of me remember what stories I had, but it was such fun to listen to the records and have the slides automatically change. I also remember that the little plastic knob on the right came off and I would chew on that sucker while watching/listening to the story.

While the stories were fun, it was hilarious to put a record on, then turn the speed down to 16 rpm, then up through 33, 45 then to chipmunk-style 78 rpm. Maybe even more fun than that was putting an army man on the turntable and cranking that sucker up to 78rpm. Oh the memories!

I bought a pack of these dogs at the HEB the other day. They were really good, with some snap to them, and a nice texture. Plus the taste was excellent. It was curious to me that the Texas Heritage Originals are actually made in Ohio…

Just got back from the ER. Bay scratched his eye at J-school this morning. Apparently he was pulling a folder out of his backpack, and it came out kind of fast and the corner hit his eye. The doctor put in some yellow dye, then looked through a big magnifying glass that had some black lights on it, and showed me the scratch. It just looked like a tiny dot. It’s not serious, but we have to put some eyedrops in 4 times a day for a few days. Bay was a little disappointed that he doesn’t have to wear an eyepatch.

We went to a wine-tasting at Central Market, and I spotted this nice C70 Passport.
