Doesn’t this seem a little odd? Well, at least someone is doing well in this economy.

A good friend of mine is excited about the Beijing Olympic games. He’s a real fan of the Olympics. I, on the other hand, will probably be tuning in just to see the women’s diving event. I need to see my girl Guo Jingjing kick some butt! Rawr!!

Camera Back in the Shop

My Konica-Minolta 7D is back at Precision Camera Repair for service. For the third time. While on vacation, the shutter would lock up constantly. The last time I sent the camera in, they sent it back saying they couldn’t find anything wrong with it. But I noticed there was a screw missing, there is some fabric coming out of the remote shutter release socket, and it looks like the sticker with the serial # on it is loose. I am not really sure if this is my original camera. But one thing is for sure, it’s broken. This time I sent in a cd-rom with the camera with many examples of messed up photos. Hopefully they will get it right this time. I am not too impressed with Precision Camera Repair.

I really like the look of this helmet. Right now I have a full-face HJC similar to this, but like the open-face look better. I know it’s safer to have the DOT/Snell approved helmet I use now, but still...!

We saw the latest Indy movie over the long weekend and I was totally blown away! I wasn’t expecting the movie to be very good, since the reviews have been so-so, but I was so into it the whole way through, and had a huge smile on my face the entire time. The overall tone of the movie is exactly like the previous movies, and I felt that same Indy magic. The music was great, the action was excellent and the story was fun! I don’t see a lot of movies these days, so maybe I am living in the past, but I totally loved this movie. Sure, Indy is getting old, but they did have a lot of fun with it and didn’t try to mask it or anything. Oh, the special effects were so amazing too. The water effects at the end were flawless. But to me, the old-fashioned action sequences were just the best. It’s hard to beat an good Indy chase scene, and this film has plenty of them!
