Last night I went out for a run. The weather website I check said it was 51°F, but with windchill would feel like 45°F. I bought some of those tight leg things by UnderArmor, and they seemed to work ok. They aren’t really made for warmth, but were very good for last night’s run. My only complaint was that the waist is too tight. Before and after running, I felt like I had a tourniquet around my waist. Anyways, the run started out really cold for the first minute or so, but then I warmed up and ran without my hood on. It was about 8:45pm, but I didn’t see anyone else running or walking, just lots of SUV’s speeding thru the 30mph streets at 50. :( But the run was good, I did about 4 miles at a nice slow pace and listened to some random Jazztronik on my iPod Shuffle. I did take my GPS unit to measure exactly how far my normal route is, but I couldn’t get a good signal on the satellites. I think it’s because I started out with my hands inside my sleeves, and I have to hold the GPS inside as well. Oh well, I will have to drive the route with the GPS later. After I got home, I checked the weather site again. The temperature had dropped to 45°F, with a “real-feel” of 36°F. Damn cold! Anyways, I took a nice quick shower, and then browsed the web for a bit before playing some Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Both my brother and I were stuck in the same place (Forest Temple), so we decided to conquer it together: he playing from California, and I in Texas, but chatting over speakerphone. I love unlimited nighttime minutes! We played for about 2.5 hours without figuring out how to get any farther, and I was getting close to busting out the spoiler guide for some hints, but then I finally stumbled upon the solution!!! I got past this big boulder blocking the doorway to another room, and that was that. We were rolling again! Got the boomerang, compass, figured out a couple more things and rescued a couple more monkeys, but by that time it was 1am and we decided to call it quits. But I learnt from my bro that I missed one of the “Pieces of Heart” somewhere along the line, so I gotta go back and search for it later. 2006 Dec 07
![]() I haven’t run in over a week, and I feel a bit lazy. The days where I have been ready to go out for the morning runs have been too cold. Maybe I need to start running at night? At any rate, I checked my BMI (Body Mass Index) and I am right at 24.2, which is classified as “Normal Weight”. I am, however carrying around a little spare tire, so I want to get rid of that, or at least lessen it! My main problem is lunch. I need to stop hitting BK for that TX Double Whopper… but it is soooo tasty! 2006 Dec 06
I saw this news headline on the Yahoo! Movie News website; “Murphy says he and Brown have split up”. I have no idea who these people could be. My first thought was Murphy Brown, then Peter Murphy. I guess it’s because we don’t watch TV much. 3,659 items in my work Inbox! And since I work with graphics/video, some have hefty attachments. I’m sure the mail server folks love me. I gotta clean that shyte up. So I am in the Forest Temple in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which is relatively early in the game, and I am stuck… I am at a part where there are some bridges that span a chasm (that’s a cool word, btw, chasm) and they swivel around depending on the way the wind blows. But I can’t figure out how to line them up all the same way. I tried using the slingshot to hit the little wind-propeller things, but that didn’t work. I don’t think I am missing anything in the other rooms either. I don’t want to have to check the spoiler sites/guides, but I think I may have to. 2006 Dec 05
There’s this part of my commute home where two lanes turns into three lanes (a lane on the right is added because of a merge) and then about a half mile later, this right lane merges in and the road becomes two lanes again. Imagine that it’s an extended merging lane. It’s maddening that so many drivers who were in the right lane will jump over to the “new” right merging lane and snake down the side, just to merge to the left again and cause us all to slow down. I hate those people. I wish I had a rocket launcher on my car at times like those. |
