Yummy Ramen
Posted by Barron CommentsPermalink

Today we relaxed at home in the morning. The kids played in the backyard for a bit on my Dad’s bridge and had a lot of fun. For lunch, we all went to the Mitsuwa shopping center off of Carson and Western and had ramen at Santoka. Sugoi oishikatta! I had the miso ramen with ikura-donburi. The kids shared a shoyu-ramen and played in the small tatami-room. That ramen is soooo good.

After returning home, we took the kids to the park at Hickory School. It’s always fun to take them there since that is the same park my brothers and friends and I used to play at when we were kids. The rocket ship is still the same, but everything else in the sandbox is different. Still lots of fun, tho!

Travel Day
Posted by Barron CommentsPermalink

Today we flew to Torrance to visit my folks for the holidays. We left the house at 7:30am and got to the airport in plenty of time, unlike our last trip to Jamaica where we missed our flight. The terminal was really empty, we just checked in our bags with no real lines to speak of. The flight was good, Koa and Bay did great!

At my parents house, we had my Mom’s submarine sandwiches waiting for us (I made a special request) with some Hawaiian-style potato chips from Trader Joe’s, and my Mom’s awesome potato salad. It was great. I finished two subs and washed it down with a Beck’s.

Later that afternoon, my brother and his two kids arrived from the OC and we proceeded to play some Wii. It was then that I discovered that I blew it and forgot to bring Super Swing Golf for him to try. It was pretty much the main thing I wanted to bring for him. Oh well… we had lots of other games to play.

For dinner, my mom made roast beef and we pigged out again.

So, I am addressing the envelopes for our Xmas cards, and I realize that I cannot write anymore… so many mistakes. How sad.

4.0 Mi.

Still a little tired after a night of drinking, eating, and Wii, but it was a perfect night for a run: clear, 68°F, light wind. A couple deer scared me pretty good when I spotted them out of the corner of my eye.

Beautiful People’s Club Photo Pool
Posted by Barron CommentsPermalink

There’s a Flickr group called “Beautiful People’s Club Photo Pool”, which I check out every now and then. I mean, who doesn’t like looking at attractive people? But my beef with this group is that some of the people in the photos aren’t beautiful at all. Of course there are certainly some people who can be considered beautiful by some and just average by others. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, after all. That’s fine, I don’t have a problem with seeing their pic in the group pool. But some of the photos are of people that I don’t think anyone would consider beautiful. Maybe I should just look at models in a magazine, I don’t know. But really, posting pics of your dumpy-looking wife are probably not what the group is for. And I don’t think “quirky” is the same as “beautiful” either. (I got nothing important to post today, obviously raspberry)

iPod Firmware (Finally!)
Posted by Barron CommentsPermalink

Apple released a new firmware version (v1.2.1) for the iPod, and now my 30GB iPod Video works like it should! It fixed the problem many 5G iPods were having with podcasts rebooting the player. Now I can listen to all my podcasts and not worry about seeing that damned Apple logo pop up.
